After its successful launch during the World Teacher’s Day celebration in school on 5 October 2016 coinciding with the October Faculty Development Seminar (FDS) dubbed “Make A Difference (M.A.D.), the PAREF Southridge Reaching Out (STRO) Project has commenced with the preliminary meeting and coordination with the seven chosen beneficiary-partner schools in Muntinlupa City in PAREF Southridge School on 1 February 2017. The STRO would be Southridge Teachers’ outreach program that would entail sharing of best practices and technology with the chosen public elementary schools. The schools were chosen upon the recommendation and with permission from the Department of Education Muntinlupa Division Office headed by the Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Mauro C. De Gulan. Invited over to the school were the seven Principals representing Alabang Elementary School-Main, Alabang Elementary School Filinvest-Annex, Cupang Elementary School, Muntinlupa Elementary School, Putatan Elementary School, and Sucat Elementary School in Zones 3 and 4. An orientation covering the rationale of the project, its goals and objectives, and the mechanics was conducted by the project coordinators led by Mr. Paul Christopher Y. Cheng, Associate Director for Academic Standards and Mr. Luis Prudencio G. Salamat, Faculty Development and Training Officer. The Principals also met with the teachers-in-charge of the different subject areas including Math, Filipino, Science, English, Social Studies, Religion, and Technology, Music and Arts and Physical Education. The project would be conducted in May 2017 during the InSet (In-Service Training) of the teachers in their respective schools.
