12/15/2009 - THE NEW PARENTS EDUCATION PROGRAM
By Institutional Information Office
The New Parents Education Program or NPEP is a pioneer project of the Personal Formation Office of PAREF Southridge School in partnership with the Educhild Foundation. The program is made up of five sessions that aim to make parents more knowledgeable about parenting and family life. Held on Saturdays in Southridge, the program welcomes parents of new PAREF students to a half day of learning from the best Educhild Mentors and Facilitators. These tips and actual cases help develop, inspire, and inform parents on how to deal with their sons and daughters, and even their spouses, in order to build closer family relationships.
The Parents for Education Foundation (PAREF), the non - stock, non - profit organization handling schools like Southridge, Woodrose, Ridgefield and Rosemont, believes that the parents are the primary Educators of their sons and daughters. Thus, educating the parents through NPEP is an essential part of building well - formed and principled individuals who would eventually contribute to the common good of society. Last November 21, NPEP has graduated 51 parents from Southridge, Ridgefield, and Rosemont. They are the 2nd batch of parents who have completed the course and have agreed that the program helped them in building a successful family life.
